Video: Overtone singing

Inspired by several examples on YouTube, and my curiosity about the subject, I attempted to do some non-throat-singing overtone singing. I was surprised that I was able to get the results I did.

Things I learned:

  • Higher notes work better for me.
  • The more closed my mouth is the clearer the overtones are heard

[..YouTube..] @FoxyStealth He’s singing the bottom note. The other note is three octaves up, well beyond most males’ vocal ability. If that doesn’t help: he’s not singing the note that sounds like the theramin at the begining of the original star trek theme. His note (called the fundamental) sounds like a normal vocal note.Hope that helps!
